Painting: Acrylic, Digital on Canvas.
It’s just a sketch, for me it’s first approach in researches on Rembrandt technique.
During night not all colors disappears, most are just transformed, sometimes they are very beautiful
and are creating original structures.
Lighting during night uniformise the colors, many are transformed into grey and whites but
volumes and surfaces are often extraordinary, impossible to create with other technique.
It happens that some of these forms, colors and lights are approaching some Rembrandt elements.
It’s as if you had discovered some secrets of old master like Rembrandt.
It’s always partly, never fully. You are happy if it happens to you.
I’d like to go further with tests and use red, yellow, brown colors so present in Rembrandt,
maybe with blues, greens so absent in Rembrandt.
You are sure that you’ll never obtain the same quality but it’s an interesting method to do researches
I’m asking myself questions :
What kind of painting would be doing Rembrandt if he was living today ?
What would be Rembrandt reaction into Cezanne, Picasso or Rothko ?
