Artists such as Cy Twombly, Joe Bradley and Jean-Michel Basquiat are frequent inspirations in my work. The lack on distinctive line making and free thought as if a child is a key element to my expression. Topics dealing with inequality, social injustice and free thought are constantly found within my work, even when I am unconscious about the mark itself. The use of mix media is important in my work as it defines the idea that art or expression is not limited to a certain medium. Scrap pieces, old books and different marking tools are used as most of the ideas and conversations around the work happen when I am not in front of the canvas.
