Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Pastel, Screenprinting on Wood.

Most recent (2016) works in original technique on veneer boards are permeated with religious characters and themes. The names of pieces are very capacious and meditatively significant — “The Shape Of The Soul”, “Noah’s Ark”. After the trip to Russia the artist was deeply influenced by everything seen, especially in Veliky Novgorod, which is famous in history of art of Ancient Russia since 16th century with its Novgorodian icon-painting school, which characteristics are freer colour usage, especially red and blue colour and gilding. Agnese doesn’t follow iconography directly and also doesn’t try to realize her works as icons, but more as paraphrases about the journey insights.
