Nocturne "The first month of summer" Painting

Galina Karateeva-Buzueva was an artist from Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad). Born in 1930 she graduated Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry (Stieglitz State Academy) the faculty of artistic decoration of fabrics and was approved for a member of artist Union of Leningrad in 1964. The artist decorated interiors in Leningrad, Norilsk, Cherepovets, Krasnoyarsk, Orel. In 60-70s her works exhibited at Galleries of artists such as Union of Leningrad. Galina Karateeva demonstrated different styles such as Russian avant-garde, impressionism, cubism, abstractionism, and worked in various techniques like graphic, painting on wood and glass, tapestries. Her grandmother was the only person who had an impact on Galina in her childhood. She’d spoken about majestic creatures wandering behind colorful pages. Galina drew an inspiration of her grandma’s stories. For all her conscious life Galina Karateeva proclaimed her father as a mentor to the world of art. He graduated Academy of Arts in Leningrad. His practice opened a curtain to his daughter’s future. Galina Karateeva died in 2014. Today all the collection of her works belongs to her son, journalist Vitaly Buzuev, who wants to share his mother’s paintings with those who appreciate arts.
