Painting: Acrylic, Oil, Ink on Wood.
Painted on a wooden board / frame.
This juxtaposition of abstraction and design is what makes the picture very compelling, the figures created as vessels to be filled by textures, colors, and ideas, beautiful compositions that conspire to feed our desire for aesthetically beautiful objects.
It feeds of a very sculptural sensibility and repeats the same motifs in its self, yet each form is utterly different, it starts with the relationship between painterly concepts such as texture, color, line, and form and continues to play on ideas providing space to explore visual depth and nuance of material as well as the potential it has to manipulate how its perceived. Some of the figures look like collage-like cut outs, the rest more illustrative in nature.
