About The Artwork
OXIDATION.3 is inspired by the ageing and corrosion of metal surfaces. It is part of a series of tactile piece. The whole collection is based around the will to create a physical connection between the artwork and the buyer. The painting is thought as a painting within a painting, with an off-white semi-glossy base and rectangles of copper paint, which was then led to oxidation by the use of non-toxic acids surrounding a textured black raised core, that allows to physically engage with the artwork. This piece is composed of two separate canvases, each measuring 100x40 cm, framed in a black wood frame with hanging hardware included.
