One Right Now Painting

I was born and raised in Nashville, TN, and am currently based in Portland, OR. I studied music but quickly fell into graphic design and painting murals after school. I have been a full time artist for over a decade, the past several years primarily spent as a painter, specifically using a mixed media approach of acrylic and spray paint. My paintings are a mediation and study of the things that I find curious, particularly creating abstracts using color palettes found in our everyday surroundings, and portraits and figures from the limitless depth of people and the human form. My paintings are often a study of these subjects, usually coming across as tranquil and inquisitive, though satire, anxiety, and desire do also work their way in. The bright colors found in most of my paintings help to alleviate and contrast the weight of a subject or to set a lighter tone.
