In the middle of a historic, modernized city with tall buildings and local stands, a lot of bipping and bopping through nooks, tiny streets, and alleyways happens; an adventure that finds you peeking around corners and zipping through open fences, anything to get you where you're going as cars and o...

Using intuition and spontaneity, I draw out emotion and visual texture in my work with scrapers, palette knives, dirty water, and broken brushes to create moments of an urban mood reminiscent of the alleyways, industrial tones, and ripped stickers on light poles surrounding me as a kid in the projects of South Boston—a grit that proudly defines my non-objective abstract style. I find comfort in the unique freedom this art type allows, giving room to explore and be with all feelings honestly through self-trust and vulnerability, without forcing resolution or answers. In this limitless space, I don’t overthink or control. Rather, it’s the one grounded place to drop shoulders and easily be with all my questions, swirling mind, frustrations, and tears. Much like the city, a lot goes on inside with a need for release. Nothing remains unexplored. Everything is exposed, welcomed, encouraged, and used. I started painting in 2014 to soothe the stresses of chaotic family life and quit my corporate job to pursue art full-time after a cancer scare in 2016. This raw, honest practice of discovery through uncertainty has become a safe place to explore and feel my way through composition, texture, and self. I am thankful for the space to breathe and let go with such freedom to reimagine these cherished raw textures and reconnect with the joys of child-me in an aesthetic, creative way. 7 of my artworks were procured by NBC/Universal for the Peacock TV series "Based on a True Story," seasons 1 & 2, and have been featured in West Elm, Beverly Hills. I am proud to have exhibited at The Other Art Fair Los Angeles in spring/fall 2024 and spring 2025, and I will showcase my work again this fall 2025. Currently residing in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California, I happily work from my cozy home studio as a self-taught artist and volunteer full-time at our local artist association as Gallery Chair, creating and implementing a year-long schedule of art exhibits and overseeing a team of volunteers.
