Painting: Acrylic, Fabric, Gesso, Paper, Plaster on Canvas.
Abstract works are for the viewer to interpret, and everyone will see different things in them, although the title may hint at my own particular feelings when creating this piece. I am inspired by nature – sometimes close-up textures and organic shapes, sometimes light and weather, and sometimes nature in the widest sense of the cosmos. If you have any questions about this particular artwork, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I start abstract works with no particular image in mind, concentrating at first on establishing a good balance of colour, tone and texture. As the work progresses a theme, image or idea will appear, and I then develop the work accordingly. Each work is built up from many layers of paint - scratched, poured, and glazed across the surface - often over a very long period of time. Fibres and acrylic-based plaster are incorporated into this work.
*READY TO HANG*
Only artist’s quality lightfast colours have been used to create the work. The canvas is painted on the sides and ready to hang unframed, although it can also be framed if desired. In the case of this picture, slight warping of the frame may mean that framing might be better, however I have hung this picture in an exhibition without a frame, as the warping is not very noticeable. The painting is protected with a two-coat acrylic varnish.
