As an artist based in rural Suffolk I endeavour in my paintings to capture the essence and mood of the subject. Painting predominantly in oils, my passion lies in working with an emphasis on light and dark tones and trying to create pieces which I feel do justice to my subject and which might relay own my emotions to the viewer. When my work connects with others and they are moved or inspired then the hours shut in my studio have been rewarded. Art, whether it is the written word, a musical composition, a sculpture or a painting is the only thing which can truly stand the test of time. If my pictures can still be hung on walls to touch or inspire people after I am gone then my work as an artist has been a success.
