Organic Reasoning Painting

Based in Chicago since 1994, I am pushing against the constrains of the traditional academic education that I received in Moscow, Russia, where I lived for the first twenty six years of my life. I paint quickly: speed grabs essence better than deliberation. I would rather stick with gut reactions than pursue an analytical process. It's mostly about moving energy, which is always alive and moving. Speed takes me past my own thinking where I can easily get bogged down in concepts and ideas. I let my hand tell the story. My process is an intuitive search for the emotional energy underlying the visible form.
