About The Artwork
Portrait of Our Lady of Lightning, which is a representation of the Virgin Mary first revered in Guadalajara, Mexico. This representation was born in 1807 when lightning struck a figure of the Virgin of the Rosary at the door of the Jesus María of Guadalajara convent. The virgin herself was charred and damaged, but the figure of baby Jesus she carried was intact, moreover, none of the nuns in the convent suffered any harm. · · · Retrato de la Virgen del Rayo, advocación de la Virgen Maria que nace en Guadalajara, México. Esta advocación de la virgen nace en 1807 cuando un rayo cae sobre una figura de la Virgen del Rosario ubicada en el rtico del convento de Jesus María de Guadalajara. La Virgen fue encontrada quemada y dañada, pero el niño Jesus que cargaba no sufrio ningun daño, como tampoco sufrieron ningun daño ninguna de las monjas del convento.
