There are flowers I never tire of painting and lilies are among them. I grew these lilies from bulbs in my garden and was very excited to watch them grow, develop buds and finally open. And of course, naturally, I couldn’t resist painting their noble beauty.

I was born and raised in the Soviet Union. It was hard to avoid being influenced by ideology but it affected me in a way opposite as intended. I don’t accept ideology in Art but appreciate beauty and meaning. After graduating from Art School and working in the fashion industry, Art and Art history has never ceased to be my greatest interest, even when my creativity had been made formulaic and standardized, life and all its complexity has never driven me away from it. Since 2013 I have been living in England. I have decided it is time for me to devote my life to painting.
