Papageno is in the service of the Queen of the Night, for whom he catches birds. In return, he receives daily food and drink from the queen, and not in short supply: he is allowed to fill his stomach with wine and sugar bread. The bird catcher loves good food, cosiness, peace and quiet. That’s why he would actually have no problem continuing this life until the end of his days… …if there were not two reasons against it: He is lonely. For a long time, Papageno has been looking for a partner. At the beginning of The Magic Flute, Mozart's Opera, Tamino, a young prince, breaks into Papageno’s more or less ideal world. This is the trigger for the homely bird catcher to be drawn into a cascade of adventures, which is actually far too much for his simple mind. Papageno was central to the resounding success of The Magic Flute because he offered the audience at the premiere in 1791 the opportunity to identify with him. The people who went to the Freihaustheater in Vienna at that time were not members of the upper class – the upper class went to the Court Opera. It was the common people who first saw The Magic Flute. Therefore, an entertaining character living the simple life was most welcome.

A brilliant personality. Akille lives like an eclectic Ulysses in Turin, Lisbon, Dublin, Thessaloniki, Madrid and Valencia, crossing contemporary art movements without actually belonging to any of them. Accompanied by a never ending thirst for beauty. Virtuoso of the spatula that expresses determination and enchanted by the poetics of Pop Art in an abstract-figurative intertwining that makes and unmakes forms. Akille tries to show his curious and fantastic world. Paintings such as: Papageno, Shy Dracula, Maximilian, HangOver invite us into the iconic and magical universe full of bright and dynamic colors where the value of lightness is recognised. Oriented to portray the characters of that world apart that has become his own world.
