Art Description

Painting: Alcohol-Based Ink, Spray Paint, Primer on Wood.

The phrase depicted is an original poetic composition, inspired by the hymn "Hark the Heralds Angels Sing." This painting is part of my 2019 series TL;DR. (Too Long ; Didn't Read ) The series draws parallels between our human mortality and our electronic data. We behave as though there is no end in sight, to cope with the reality that nothing lasts forever.

From my 2019 installation TL;DR. See my website for full installation shots of the exhibition.

Tl;dr stands for "too long; didn't read." While the internet acronym can criticize a piece of writing as overly long, it often is used to give a helpful, witty, or snarky summary of a much longer story or complicated phenomenon.
