About The Artwork
My second great "Avatar" animal. This work, together with the other pieces that make up the series, is born in conjunction with a difficult path of awareness and healing that I had to face following numerous episodes of abuse suffered by a trusted person in adolescence. The peacock, embodiment of strength and rebirth, is serious and imposing, vivid and colorful. One of my intentions is to make my animals appear strong and with a disturbing aura: they are in fact the symbol of the awareness and strength that I've acquired during my journey, but also a symbol of anger and a strong desire for justice. My animals are the representatives of a beautiful and wild Nature, that nature that man tries so much to subjugate but which will find its freedom, even at the cost of destroying the men.

Irene Meniconi was born in Florence in 1986, then moved, still a child, in the Chianti shire immersed in nature that will always be the foundamental element of inspiration for his artistic creation. After graduating at the “Accademia delle Belle Arti” in Florence, the artist has collaborated with numerous companies from different sectors: from fashion, to food and wine, to publishing, interior decoration for professional offices, public and private spaces. At the same time she carries on her personal artistic work creating mixed media paintings, the result of the studies and of her artistic career brought along in years. She exhibited his works taking part in solo and group exhibitions in many Italian Galleries.
