"Pentecost" I painted after having bought some peonies and had admired the very dark red. An immodest flower that opens up in a way as if it says: Look at me! This intuitive painting depicts the red of my peonies and has a very strong presence on the wall, expressive and potent. Please have a look at the texture of the work. The sides are painted white. The work is sealed with a silky varnish. The painting is ready to hang with picture wire between two folding eyelet/pointed hangers. For less expensive shipping I offer to take the canvas off the stretchers and roll it up to be send in a tube. Its size in inches is 39.4 x 31.5 x 1.8

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
