Periodically Double or Triple Painting

"Periodically Double or Triple," is from a series of artwork that focuses on the abstraction of recognizable patterns of expression, once commonly found in personally handwritten correspondence. My initial source of inspiration for this series of work came from The Palmer Method of Business Writing, a book of penmanship instruction dating back to the late 19th century. In it, Palmer dissects and closely studies the making of each cursive letter of the alphabet and then creates drills consisting of repeated patterns for practicing handwriting. The point of view of the artwork is from imagining entering a life-size letter. The artwork is acrylic on canvas with finished edges (light grey), wired and ready to hang. This artwork can be hung vertically or horizontally. If desired, the artwork could be framed but it’s not necessary.
