Pied Oystercatcher 1 Painting

I have been fascinated by birds since being a lad in England. My heroes then were the great British bird painters such as Sir Peter Scott. Later in life I became an Australian trade diplomat and kept my passion alive even in seemingly unlikely places such as Saudi Arabia. Arabian birdlife is surprisingly rich since it is on the great seasonal bird migration routes. My paintings do not aspire to be scientific "feather studies" but rather bird portraits that capture the essence and the character of the individual bird. Bird enthusiasts will identify with them easily. My preferred medium for birds is watercolour on heavy, archival grade watercolour paper. Each painting comes with framing suggestions. I do hope that you can find a place for one of my paintings at that it will give lasting pleasure and perhaps a talking point for family and friends.
