This is one of the trees I painted for my Series about Connecticut Notable Trees. This beautiful sycamore tree is located in Simsbury, CT. It is a very impressive tree, very old but still proudly standing. I'm fascinated with these ancient creatures, witness of history, that live among us. My goal with this project was to portrait them with the respect they deserve. I always love trees. I have a strong connection with them. I live in a neighborhood that has many old trees. People pass by them without notice them. I hope with these work to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting our historical trees and our environment.
