Painting: Acrylic, Paint, Resin on Wood.
The use of appropriation has played a significant role in the history of the arts.
Following in this tradition, I have adopted appropriation as a theme in my art. A medium to address my urban observations and a kind of remix of culture.
With this work I have created a visual dialogue with the works of Leger.
Armed with my electric router, I've extricated each motif away from its rectangular straight edges. A new space absorbed in a new sequence thereby initiating a 'choreography' of colour and rhythmic repetition.
