ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Since I am originally from Ukraine, the war in my country influences me a lot. My parents are still in Ukraine, hiding in the shelters, not being able to leave the country. Through the first two months of the war, I had overcome a variety of emotions, which I tried to reflect on in my art. The colors of the painting are the colors of spring, the colors which war took from Ukrainian people. Those are the colors that have to remind Ukrainians how beautiful was the spring of 2022, despite all the grieving and sadness. The little flag of Ukraine in the middle symbolizes my intense love for my home country and my desire to help it to thrive as much as possible.
