ABOUT THE ARTWORK
For Amy Winehouse, it all began on September 14, 1983: she was born in London to a mother who was a pharmacist and a father who was a taxidriver. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a waitress on wheels. Fate decided otherwise: she was quickly spotted for her groove and her old school voice which covers three octaves, in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerlad or Sarah Vaughan.She founded her first rap group at the age of 10 and released her first album Franck at 20, a collection of personal songs with strong jazz influences. First big hit, it is certified Gold Disc the following year. But it was Back to Black that propelled her into the big league in 2006: the album went platinum six times in the UK and ended the year as the best-selling opus.
