Inspired by the 1793 painting, The Death of Marat (La Mort de Marat or Marat Assassiné), created by Jacques-Louis David, depicting the assassination of French revolutionary leader Jean-Paul Marat. He was famously murdered in his bathtub by Charlotte Corday, attempting to halt his revolutionary actions. In this, the Artist interprets her own version of the story believing that Jean Paul's heartbreak led him to take his own life. Delving deeper into the historical context during her teenage years, she was both surprised and disappointed to discover the truth behind it. Hence, In this version, the protagonist's lover is killed, leaving him with no reason to continue living. This explains why "Julietta" is written on the wall above him.
