From the series, Cosmic Archeology, this mixed media painting on wood panel depicts an otherworldly visual motif of polygonal shapes floating in a deep blue and layered background. The artwork is loosely inspired by modernism and mythology, archeology and astronomy. Dense marbled textures, in blue and black, are evocative of the patterns found in geological and astral phenomena. The yellow gold leaf detail that spill through the painting refers to the star stuff that permeates everything. Edges are gilded in gold and when hung, the painting floats 1/4" off of the wall by means of a hidden French cleat mounting bar attached to the back of the panel.
