About The Artwork
Portrait of a young man, painted in 2016. Now it is completely dry and I will apply thin layer of varnish to protect it further. I use Krylon UV Archival satin varnish. It is best quality non yellowing varnish to protect agains fading, dirt, moisture and discolouration. It has painted all four sides. Comes with "D" rings and a wire, ready to be hung and there is no need to frame it. Loosely based on sketches and photographs of artist's younger son. Painted during very difficult time in his life. Lyrica is a subtitle. ( Lyrica is a nasty anxiolytic medication used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain... and generalized anxiety disorder ). It is the portrait art that interests him, regardless of a sitter. Portrait is not just a visual representation of a subject, it should reveal a lot about the essence of the person.

Born in Croatia in 1958, Tony Belobrajdic is a Sydney based figurative artist. He started exhibiting in the late seventies and had his first solo show in 1983 in Croatia. Tony moved to New York in 1987 where he continued his art practice. He exhibits both in Sydney and Europe regularly. Acrylics, watercolours and oils have been the mediums of choice. Etchings is the latest medium being explored and studied with a great passion. His style could be described as contemporary impressionism, mostly portraits and figures. Tony's artwork demonstrates distinct freedom using spontaneous brushstrokes and vivid colours. He combines layered figuration of human forms put in abstract situations.
