About The Artwork
Oil sketch preparatory for a finished portrait of my friend and fellow member of Club Macchia, John Bennington, sculptor. A career lawyer (public defender), John is also a long time sculptor and has exhibited along with other Club Macchia artists here in Eugene and on the Oregon Coast, in Newport. I am presenting the work for sale at this stage because I like the textures achieved by the sketch and am willing to regard this as "finished" as an oil sketch.

Exhibited widely in Italy: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Terni, etc. A professional educator, taught full-time at Lane Community College for over 25 years and worked as a manager for Lane County Regional Information System. Arts activist founding many alternative art shows and galleries in the Eugene, OR and surrounding areas.
