Pride of the Wood Painting

I was born in 1951 on the Wirral, in Cheshire. I am married with two sons and now live and work in Mid Wales.I have been painting as a full time artist for the past 25 years. I work on commissions, solo, and group exhibitions, throughout the U.K. The main source of inspiration for my work is drawn from the natural environment, capturing the ever changing climate and it's effect on the landscape. The subject will dictate it's treatment and the media to be used. Acrylic, Watercolour and Pastel are my preffered mediums. I usually take a series of on location photographs and sketches for the work to be completed in my studio. Through my work, I attempt much more than an objective representation as I wish the painting to delight the eye and lift the spirit.
