Probate Prison Altarpiece Painting

When the "State" or government dictates where a person can live, what they can spend of their own money, and who they can see for their healthcare, doctors etc, then we have what is close to a fascist state. Guardianship and Conservators, appointed by the courts, enables this kind of extreme power over a fellow human being, often times without one's consent. This is the way the probate courts decide the fates of senior citizens in the great United States of America. This work "Probate Prison Altarpiece" is an attempt to illustrate the fate of my family member within this kind of system. It is a painting, an assemblage, and a sculpted construction of a wood fruit crate and an attached panel with wood.
