Painting: beeswax, Resin, pigment on Paper.
My works explore the perception of light as revealed through nuance of colour, composing a space between the natural and the ideal. An environment of diffused light is created that remains minimal and abstract.
I consider my subject to be light, and landscape is its messenger, with changing transitions in colour capturing reflected memories of small moments in time and sublime beauty.
My paintings are developed through numerous translucent layers. Pigment is suspended in beeswax, allowing light to permeate and become compositionally present.
Nature and her mystery is always at the core of my work. This piece is composed of pure beeswax, damar resin and pigment on panel. I use the ancient painting technique of encaustic and make all of my own medium. All materials are biologically pure and chemical free.
Wax encaustic and pigment on archival paper. 8" x 11.5" image mounted on 16" x 20" archival board. Signed below image on front. Matted and ready for framing.
