About The Artwork

'Pueblo Errante' An original multi medium modern abstract on sculptured shaped canvas painting by Kurt Wedgley. Measures 69"x44"x 5" with 56 corners. 'Pueblo Errante' translates to 'Wandering Village' and was inspired by the architecture of Pueblo dwellings. Wedgley added a twist to bring it to the Twenty-First century with an industrial composition. He applied custom mixed gray acrylic paint with his signature texture to the canvas to give the impression of concrete. His welded carbon steel covers to go over the wooden dowels. This gives a modern edge to old world architecture. This one of a kind abstract is framed with 56 corners, boxes, openings and floating dowels. Over the wooden dowels, Kurt placed welded carbon steel covers. Please see additional images showing the structured engineered framework. The protruding shapes have duplicate structures inside to fully integrate to the structure. The frame is fully covered with canvas. The wooden framework of this piece has been sanded throughout for evenness in the stretching process. This piece can be hung both vertical and horizontal.

Kurt and Victoria grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA. Kurt specializes in shaped canvas geometrics and Victoria modern expressionism. VICTORIA KLOCH: My paintings have been received by collectors throughout the USA and 20 countries. Each piece is motivated mostly by color and movement that has developed over the years to modern abstract and my love for midcentury art. The master artists that bring my inspiration is Paul Klee, Richard Diebenkorn, Maurice Esteve, Helen Frankenthaler, and Georgia O'Keeffe. AWARDS: ’Hope’ 2010 Members’ Mention for Think Pink Exhibit. ‘Riley’s Rose’ Patrons’ Mention for Two Tones Exhibit. ‘True Love Never Dies’ Patrons’ Choice for Tattoos: Designs for Depictions of Exhibit. ‘Abadejo’ 1st Place, Members’ Choice for Squid and Other Deep-Sea Monsters Exhibit. KURT WEDGLEY: I have so many interests in art and science that it is hard for me to find one thing only to continue with. I have always been attracted to those things complex. I like making them. There is no greater fulfillment for me than coming up with an idea and building it from scratch. To see something in my head and with my hands, create it in reality. Back when I was building props and sets for commercials, one of the producers called me a "space manipulator" because of my ability to imagine something and produce it a short time later. I love tools. They are a direct extension of my mind. I am a craftsman, artist and technician. I have wanted to build everything I own since I was a kid. I think I would need a few lifetimes for that. Sculpted canvases are a good fit for me now as I can take them many directions. My inspiration is Frank Stella. To our collectors, at the beginning of each day, our on-going body of work is dedicated to bringing you growing value to the Kloch-Wedgley legacy in the world of art.
