This bright energetic original cold wax oil painting was inspired by the hours of roadway between Kansas City, Mo, Hays, KS and Denver, CO. The midwest regional theme is common for my work because of the family time and love that I find there. The art pulls the color and beauty from an extensive passenger seat view of the Midwest farms and plains. The rural lone oil pump in the background and the colorful milo field brings some of the beauty to surface that a passenger might see in their travels while scanning the colorful sky and fields. I selected this medium to bring a creamy richness from the cold wax and oil to add a soft feel to this often dry harsh subject. As an Artist I want to draw attention and appreciation to this expansive overlooked subject, where not only does the land work, but the people work very hard and find ways to live rich lives and heritage.

About The Artwork

This bright energetic original cold wax oil painting was inspired by the hours of roadway between Kansas City, Mo, Hays, KS and Denver, CO. The midwest regional theme is common for my work because of the family time and love that I find there. The art pulls the color and beauty from an extensive passenger seat view of the Midwest farms and plains. The rural lone oil pump in the background and the colorful milo, wheat, or corn fields brings some of the beauty to surface. I love an abstract impression style in my work. This is an earlier piece, exploring cold wax and oil on canvas. I loved creamy richness from this medium and have since used it for other paintings. I am anxious to spend more time with this medium. The history of the midwest plains is a great one to paint. I so respect, and love the layers one sees in the distance. Please see some of my other paintings on this subject. I have a complete inventory at https://patty-donoghue.pixels.com/art . thank you so much for supporting my art adventure. One of my goals is to bring joy to viewers that see my work. kindly Patty

PATTY DONOGHUE ART My art tends to be bright, happy, colorful, impressionistic, abstract or semi-abstract paintings. I study a theme and have the most comfort using a loose free style in my art. As a child, I dreamed of being an artist and as a teenager my art became a therapeutic outlet that allowed my continued optimistic focus and success, during extreme trying times, relocation and family separations. To me, painting, and creating has a therapeutic value. This strong belief, led to a successful career as an Occupational Therapist and healthcare administrator. Today my full focus is on what has always been in my soul, and I lead a full time art business career. I teach painting as a stress, therapeutic, tool. My art has been shown in multiple juried shows, and it has purchased internationally, It has promoted non-profit organizations and fundraising effort.
