About The Artwork

Here is a new unique piece to add to my acrylic series. I want to create artwork that appeals to both adults and children. A captivating original piece of artwork giving an abstract feel to the painting. By using intense colours, I hope to have captured the essential elements of the picture. The British are well known for drinking tea, so I decided to create the quintessential tea party. There are three parts to this painting, two sections are displaying the art of pouring a cup of tea and the other is more of an abstract cup and saucer. I thought it would be a bit of fun to unite the three sections into the one painting. Ultimately, what I hope to create is the most stunningly beautiful, luminous, delicious colour combinations. I want to put colours together that fill your eyes with light; draw luscious, organic lines that make your mouth water, and create perfectly balanced compositions that feel like a light summer breeze flowing by. Perfect for adding a statement piece to living spaces that may create a talking point with visitors. Executed in good quality acrylic paints, painted on all sides, and finished with a glaze of gloss varnish to protect against sunlight and dust. It just needs a nail or wall fitting to sit flush against the wall. You will receive a signed certificate of authenticity. The painting is A2 size and is on stretched canvas. All art is professionally packaged to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. My works have been shipped worldwide. About me: I am a painter, mostly in oils although I have begun to switch between oils and acrylics. I love to paint, love colours, shapes’, and textures. I love the idea that a different story can be read into each of my paintings and each viewer may interpret a story different to another.

Corinne is a UK based artist having previously worked in the finance industry. While appreciating art most of her life, she began painting about four years ago and is largely self-taught. Corinne paints almost exclusively with oils and works in a Studio space at The Artworks, Halifax, West Yorkshire. She considers oils as the most vibrant and challenging of the mediums and the vibrancy of colours and textures are shown within her work. However, due to the 2020 Covid-19 virus and the UK lockdown Corinne was only able to access acrylic paints and has produced a number of different style paintings. Corinne is particularly inspired by the Netherlandish Art of the Sixteenth Century, notably the two masters Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. She is totally fascinated by their work. Bosch who embodies the phantasmagorical force of painting, while Bruegel through his true-to-life landscapes and frank depictions of peasants. She loves the idea that there is a story within their works and has been inspired to paint some of their works but applying her own style of painting. As an artist Corinne loves to present the viewer with themes and subjects that raise their own thoughts and views on what the subject matter is telling them. Corinne has now completed painting the Seven Deadly Sin series of drawings of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Bruegel made these preparatory drawings in ink for subsequent engraving by Pieter van der Heyden. His drawings depict the essence of human nature by illustrating moralising imagery through a comic lens. Corinne’s aim is to bring these drawings to life by applying her painting style using vibrant colours and textures. Corinne is passionate about her work she produces and hopes that the viewer will love her work as much as she does when painting.
