Photograph or Painting? CREATED A NEW ARTISTIC TECHNIQ WHICH CALL RÉALITÉ PLIÉE (FOLDED REALITY) I was flipping through a magazine in which I saw a couple of really good quality photos. My observation is that once we read these magazines we throw them away and don’t care about them anymore. I felt there is a way to preserve their value. Most of the time I use several photos to create one visual plan on the computer before painting the image on a canvas. It was rather the idea of recycling, the possibility to create art from something that people have already set aside. In my opinion, there is a visible line between the analogue reality and a different dimension that inspires it. The latter is digitalisation, the internet, social media and the world of fashion. These two worlds are the basis for my artistic style. I would like to shock the spectators in the most positive sense of the word. The main aim is to create confusion; is it a panting or a photograph? It’s a way to show people what they desire to see: beautiful women, expensive clothes and jewellery. It’s important to keep in mind that it’s the illusion of the moment and we never know what is in the background. It’s possible to express this with different painting tricks. Humility is the most important for me, as well as making effort to achieve my goals and stay authentic.
