This painting illustrates the moving story of Kiara and Philibert, two panthers now resident at the Refuge de l'Arche. These two majestic felines stand side by side, symbolizing their shared destiny and the invisible but powerful bond that now unites them. Around them, two butterflies in full flight join in a light dance. They embody rebirth and transformation. Kiara, a black panther, is a survivor of the Ukrainian chaos. The product of illegal animal trafficking, she was left in an abandoned house by her owner, who fled the war. Alongside her, Philibert was seized from individuals who owned him illegally. Seized in deplorable conditions, he finds in this refuge a second chance and a new life. This painting testifies to the hope that the Refuge de l'Arche represents for these animals born of human suffering and illegal trade. It invites us to reflect on the protection of wildlife, while celebrating the resilience and rebirth of these two panthers, who find themselves united by their new life.
