About The Artwork
This painting was created from a black and white photograph of my "Granddaddy". He was in the Navy, and had to go to war. This was the photo he sent my Grandmother when they were just dating. What I love about the photograph is the rebel I see in the pic, with his sunglasses and cigarette. . This is such a contrast to grandfather I knew...straight laced, kind, always god fearing. I hope he got a chuckle watching me from above getting a peaking at his renegade spirit, realizing we were more alike than I knew. Loving him and missing him.
