About The Artwork

This painting came to me when I saw the Super Blood Wolf Moon in the sky last summer over our house. I decided to add a small industrial town or village with a sort of Russian look to it. All very loosely put in. The numbers on the buildings are something I made up to bring everything down to earth. You see in the distance a woman carrying a briefcase crossing the street. A man leaning on a large box and a boy leaning on a building appear to be talking to each other. A woman in a door way, a boy running in the street towards her. I wanted this painting to hint at an eerie atmosphere. The dreamlike buildings and flow remind me of the end of a workday. If you look at any of my other paintings, you'll notice I like to use flowing buildings to emphasize the unreality of it all.

. I paint mostly with acrylics. I like to paint on canvases that are medium size that can fit nicely in a hall way or living room to add some color and interest to a dull area. Color, as you can see by my paintings is a very important element to me. I like to expand ideas by playing with the colors in the painting. I will paint over a color if I don't think it works, and I spend a great deal of time planning each piece. I am painting or drawing all the time but many of my paintings are not finish works for several weeks. I started painting at a very early age, and have painted off and on for many years.I can be reach also with a email. I live and paint in Fort Collins, Colorado near the mountains. I like this area to live in because it makes a great place to come up with ideas. I started drawing and painting at an early age but when I was in high school in the late 1960's that is when I really started painting with enamels and oil paints. Then while I was in college I became interested in art classes and geometric drawing. But I kept painting all at the the same time. Then I realize I could paint in a more " Geometric Abstraction" way. I learn about a Artis name Theo Van Doesburg who in 1917 did a painting called the "Card Players" which is a early Geo-Abstaaction. So I put more of an efford towards painting in that style. After college I tried to sell my, but I soon found out how hard that was. So I put my art away for a while. And started working to make enough money to live on. I came back to painting again after I retired. I love to paint which now I am finally able to do. I like to mix up different styles of abstract with impression, but I almost always fall back into painting Geo. Abstraction. Many of my ideas for paintings come from my years spent in manufacturing and working in different types of industrial jobs. I am in my 70's now, and I plan to keep painting until I run out of ideas or time. I really only show my paintings on Saatchi and to friends. I have a lot of paintings that I don't show on Saatchi. Anyway I hope you like what you see and might like to collect some.
