ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Red Orange Moon” is example of an intensive closeness to the Asian art, with much more Chinese influence than any other paintings. Bulks of the two imperial colours: red and gold define the silky surface of the canvas ordered by – superficially – unemotional elements: a frame, a bar, a square. There is an image of a postal seal and ornamental motifs, which allow recalling of some rearranged Chinese characters. There is no black, however, but instead an earthen background of saturated or thinned brown hues, which suppress the vibrant irradiance of the red and golden richness.
