Red Sky at Morning, Sailors Warning Painting

Cassandra began her career designing gold jewelry from the late ’70s into the mid-’80s for celebrity clients such as Van Morrison, Timothy Leary, the Doobie brothers. Although she is no longer designing jewelry, her paintings of today have been heavily influenced by that experience. The jewel tones and geometric shapes seen in various cuts of precious and semiprecious stones are seen in her recent work. As owner of Kersting Galleries in Sausalito and Cassandra Kersting Gallery in downtown Oakland, she represented some of the most successful Bay area artists. Over 3 decades of gallery representation, Cassandra managed to find time to create art of her own. Now semi-retired, Cassandra is able to devote even more time to her work.
