Redemption Song 12" x 12" acrylic on canvas Inspired by: Bob Marley & The Wailers Acceptance~Peace~Unity~Brotherhood Unlike most of his songs this is a solo acoustic track with some key lyrics are from a speech given by Marcus Garvey. At live performances the full band was used. It is a deeply personal and political song that shows the vulnerability and strength of the artist and man. Such and emotionally appealing song that will never lose its place on my playlist or in history. This painting is part of a 4 piece intuitive painting I did on day 21. I have painted this a bit more to make the two circular images appear like shackles that are breaking along with some mark making done with vine charcoal. The movement in the work is freedom. The gold drops are tears and my colors represent: WHITE = purity, GOLD = illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic, and wisdom, GREY = the dichotomy of pain and healing PINK = hope and encouragement GREEN = healing power and rest BLUE = nature, freedom & wisdom ORANGE = joy, expression, sunshine, warmth, sexuality & creativity This painting is from my Music is Magic Collection where I painted 30 paintings in 30 days using an iTunes playlist for inspiration.
