This piece “Reflecting Fishies” is a offset of my Kiss series of work. In the reflections series the subjects are almost always facing each other nearly touching lips. My true passion for art is driven by my own suffering and advocacy for Fibromyalgia and mental health awareness. I use my art to be a voice for those who suffer from Fibromyalgia and other “invisible” illnesses. But, I also use art to keep myself sane. You can see that in my creations, which range from showcasing my painful past to present plight and pleasures. My hope is my art helps to educate, enlighten, and share the human experience; to reflect the suffering of those afflicted with disease, disability, and mental pain; all while reflecting the mysterious beauty of Mother Nature and the human experience of being connected to mother earth herself. Creating art is and has been painful and difficult, but pain does not and will not stop me. I used to create art to escape my reality. I now create to share my reality.
