Reflections is a mixed media diptych that emerged from my 2023 preparations for my first solo exhibition in a Barcelona gallery. Seeking to complement my sculptures and fill the gallery walls, I began experimenting with the textures and colors integral to my ceramic work. This piece is the result of that exploration. I used a variety of materials, including acrylic paint, gloss medium, paper, and spray paint, layering them to construct an abstract portrayal of water tones. This process allowed me to translate the tactile and visual elements of my ceramic art into the realm of painting, creating a cohesive yet distinct addition to my body of work. The layers of Reflections mirror the complexities of water—its depth, movement, and reflective qualities—giving it a sense of fluidity and energy. By incorporating textures similar to those in my ceramic art, this diptych bridges different mediums and ties together my broader artistic vision.
