ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My intention is to abstract the tangible forms of a recognisable landscape into constituent parts. Viewers experience scenery as a reduction of shapes, tonal values and their separate edges. I aim to reward spectators with a sometimes huge-scale ‘drip-painting’ evocation of the environment around us, while causing us to ponder the whole process of pattern and perception.
