Refuge II Painting

”Refuge” is used a metaphor for shelter, both literally and metaphorically. I want to communicate that nature is important as a relief from everyday life and worries, and to provide perspective. The three landscapes that I have completed as part of this series are from the Ozark St. Francis National Forest. I worked from photographs that I took while hiking. I used interference acrylic paint, so when you look at it from different angles parts of it change color.
