About The Artwork

In this work, I reconsider the process of materialization and rematerialization. If it is at the boundaries where the capacity to transform into a volatile force, into becoming, is manifested, it is in the relationship with the elemental background where I rethink the process of appearing or existing in a different place until re-materializing. The proposal incorporates the use of a mobile device that links to a 15-second "silence" audio on the SoundCloud platform, along with the image of a previous work featuring a jar containing fragments of unfinished pieces. Fragments that encapsulate part of the history of the process undertaken, of that unfinished process that is continuously reworked.

María Cecilia Picca, a resident of Río Ceballos, Córdoba, Argentina, presents an outstanding academic background from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Holding a degree in Painting, she has garnered awards and recognition throughout her career, including the University Prize with Honorable Mention for Academic Merit. Her journey includes a training scholarship and a loan granted by the National Arts Fund to integrate technological and pictorial manual aspects in a collaborative project with Engineer Juan Manuel Moreno. Notable participations in national and international exhibitions and biennials, such as the Second Accésit in the V International Painting Prize Mario Saslovsky and involvement in the 111th National Salon Palais de Glace of Visual Arts in 2023, among others. With selections in the International Biennial of Río Negro, the Foundation Andreani Award, UADE Prize, and the B-Arte Prize in LABITCONF, María Cecilia has showcased her work in both individual and collective exhibitions at distinguished spaces like the Museum of Contemporary Art MACU, the Women's Museum, and the Ferreyra Palace in Córdoba. Her participation in national salons, such as the National Painting Salon Bancor, and international events like Arteamericas and Art Bo, reflects the diversity of her body of work. With over 140 pieces to her name, Picca continues to explore and rethink the interstitial spaces through the Bordes project (2012-2024), evolving into ENTRE, where the dialogue between the manual, the technological, and the yet-to-be-discovered continues to inspire new creations.
