“Portrait on yellow background" by Enrique Pichardo is a 122x152 cm work, created in acrylic on canvas. In this abstract portrait, vibrant yellow serves as a background, while white, blue, black and orange stand out as complementary colors. The glowing yellow creates an atmosphere of warmth and vitality in the composition. White, blue, black and orange intertwine in the abstract figure, outlining contours and shapes that evoke a sense of dynamism and movement. Each brushstroke of color contributes to the expressiveness and depth of the portrait, adding layers of meaning and emotion to the work. White highlights the luminosity of certain areas, while blue and black add contrasts and shadows that create depth and volume. Orange adds a touch of energy and vitality, infusing the composition with a sense of passion and excitement. Together, these colors work in harmony to create an abstract portrait that captures the viewer's attention and invites them to explore the many layers of meaning and emotion that lie within the work. “Portrait on a Yellow Background" is a fascinating exploration of the relationship between color and form, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of artistic expression and creativity.

The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism. The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations. However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces. Paint like a child, paint with more expression than technique, paint with feeling over technique. The painter seeks the skillful strokes of his inner child to carry out each of his pieces.
