River (Current 5) Painting

I've been influenced by various images of natures in recent years. This series is about fragments of time and chronological events that have been enlarged and have become a symbol. It’s an attempt to capture in abstract the moment of a flowing river. Movement is important in this series. I hope the viewers can sense the flowing quality in this piece. Over the last couple of years, I've moved away from illustrative/narrative look to more abstractions in my work. I find it abstract art gives viewers their free interpretations of the pieces rather than just my point of view. I used mainly acrylic, graphite, charcoal and crumpled newspaper collage and gave it a texture.
