ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Seilhopser - ropeskipper 125x70cm acrylic on hardboard framed with a shadow gap total dimension: 130x75x3cm It is one of a series of three. I painted the darkstars in 2008 and they represent a certain mood and state of being. While spending lots of time discovering edgy new music and writing small stories. They were the last works I've done in my apartment under the roof. Thisone was the first of the series. I stopped working as an illustrator in 2008, founded a studio working space with some others and got a new direction, concerning materials, form of expression and a new artistic line.

*1974 in Neunkirchen/Saar lives and works in Hamburg Grown up in a little place in the county of Nahetal. Studied artstudies, philosophy at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and design at University of Applied Sciences FH-Mainz, 2004 Graduation as qualified designer, 2005 worked as an illustrator for several magazines and publishing houses. 2006 I decided to focuse on arts. 2009 foundation of artist studiohouse "der Gang", Hamburg. Art offers an action space for all kinds of controversy, positionings and closer examination of world. It's an attempt to be in kinds of presence on walls, in rooms as a contemporary, which is liked to be read. Artist show a permeability, one can simply do and make and be awaken to here and now. If it is chronistical - definetly but rather a phenomenological comment. Or even a counterdraft. ... and it is silent, cause it happens, appeals and develops only with a counterpart when it takes room, walls and it rubs.
