ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting explores the world of the Bacchae, a procession of women who accompanied the god of wine Bacchus on his expedition of decadence. Wine was used to break down inhibitions and cultural conservatism. The Bacchae throw themselves into a state of delirious fervour, their convulsive movements, bending the body backward and their violent dance to exhaustion is an echo of my artistic method. The vortices, exuberance gesture; are violent impulses that arise to express the interior forces, without inhibition.
