Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas, Wood, Other.

I have been on Route 66 many times from age 7 to recently. In 1947 my Dad drove the family out to California on Route 66. We took a 1938 Cadillac Limo out to Howard Hughes, and brought a Ford Woody back to Hughes Tool in Houston.

The painting is on stretched canvas, painted with oil. The signs are on 3/16 thick foamcore board which makes them stand out from the canvas in relief. The pole is a wooden dowel painted black. It is a painting and an assemblage.

The painting is custom framed in a satin black wood frame 1" across the face and 2.5" high. Frame included.
